Six contestants are under par after three rounds of the 2009 Palmetto Amateur, headed by the previous leader, Josh Gallman from Gaffney, SC. Gallman posted his second sub-par round of the tournament with a 68 and stands at five under par. He is followed by Bill Jones at three under par (69-69-69), Scott Strohmeyer (70-69-69) and David Gies (70-68-70) at two under par for the tournament. Jeff Knox (68-74-67), perennial local favorite and Logan Blondell (69-71-69) round out the top six. One of the highlights of today's play was a hole in one by Augusta State University Golf Coach Josh Gregory. The round of the day and the tournament, a four under par 66, was posted by Jeff Knox's son, Lee, who is a student golfer at the University of Alabama. |
